Certified organic astragalus root extracted in organic ethyl alcohol and mountain spring water. This astragalus root is classified as premium grade due to the age of the root and the size of the root. The primary root with minimal amounts of the smaller secondary roots are used to make this product. Studies have shown that the active components are concentrated in the primary roots, and that the levels are highest in older roots.
The use of Astragalus dates back to the 5th century where it was described as a "superior" herb due to its tonic action. This supreme group of herbs was described as ‘rulers ... they control the maintenance of life and correspond to heaven.' Of this group of tonic herbs, Astragalus has earned the highest regard and is known as the "yellow leader". The clinical study will focus on botanicals that affect the immune system of patients with abnormal cell growth and infectious disease.
